Junior Development @ The Hive

3 Mar 2020 by Werribee Bowls Club

I am pleased to advise that our Junior Development Program is going well with 13 children participating this week thanks to the efforts of Marian and Graeme Foster who are driving this initiative in conjunction with Graham McKinnon.

Our first participants came via the local Pop Up Park and a group of 10 have come via the Home School Program. This week we will be emailing flyers to local schools for distribution.

The program runs Monday afternoons between 3.30-5pm. or other times can be arranged as mutually agreed. Bookings are essential.

The initial session held with the assistance of Paul Holtschke our Bowls Australia Regional Bowls Manager emphasised that the FUN FACTOR is imperative when working with children of this age. Greg Grima has also volunteered to come on board to assist with the program which is great.

The children will be offered Junior Membership of the Club and their parents encouraged to take out social membership to enable family groups to play together at times of their choosing to enhance their games.

Congratulations Marian & Graeme on your positive commitment to this program. Programs such as this will help to build our club and are also of significance when applying for funding assistance.

It’s all happening @ The Hive.
